Delete Your Account

You can permanently delete your FamTree account (app package com.idwapro.famtree, developer FamTree) and all data associated with it at any time. There are two ways to do it:

1. In the app (fastest)

1. Open FamTree and sign in.
2. Go to Settings → Account Actions → Delete Account.
3. Confirm. Your account is scheduled for deletion immediately, and you can cancel by signing back in within 24 hours.

2. Without the app

If you no longer have the app installed, email [email protected] from the email address linked to your FamTree account with the subject "Account deletion request". We will verify it's you and schedule the deletion — no reinstall needed.

What gets deleted

An automated server-side process permanently removes:

• Your profile and sign-in account
• Your family tree and all members you created
• Uploaded photos, videos, and wallpapers
• Chat messages and media
• Feed posts, stories, and albums
• Pending invites and phone-verification records
• Any public tree summary link

Connected families are unlinked: the node representing you in a relative's tree is anonymised (your account link, photo, and verified phone are removed), but the relative's own tree data stays theirs.

Timing and retention

Deletion is completed within 30 days and cannot be undone. We do not retain your data afterwards, except where we are required to keep certain records by law. If you'd like a copy of your tree first, export it via Settings → Export Family Tree (GEDCOM) before deleting.
